Peaches

Sam still only has two teeth which poses a problem for eating some of the fruits he likes most.  I bought one of those silly mesh fruit bag things and he loves it!!!!!  You put fresh fruits or veggies in the little bag and he can go nuts sucking all of the juice out without having to worry about choking on the skin!  I have gotten a little lazy now and would prefer to put fruit in there instead of cutting it into tiny pieces and feeding it to him.  This way he can go wild and enjoy it and we don't have to worry about him choking!  Come on more teeth!!!!
PS- only problem... a little messy!  : )

Yum

How handsome is this boy!?  We had a great weekend hanging out at home.  Sam says have a good week!

PS- Sam had his one year check up on Wednesday of this week.  We have a skinny-mini on our hands right now... 20 lbs 8 oz which drops him to the 16th percentile!!!  The number sounds worse than it is but we were told to definitely try hard to fatten him up!  They told us to feed him 5-6 times a day.... smother everything in butter, oil, sour cream and syrup... high calorie items like potatoes, french toast sticks, ice cream, etc.  We also started on whole milk which was no problem at all so hopefully that helps too.  Definitely not in this kid's genes to need additional calories so I'm sure it will be short lived, but for now, any ideas or suggestions to help me put some extra meat on his bones would be appreciated!  I know, his cheeks are deceiving!  : )  Everything else checked out just great!  He is a happy, happy one year old!!!  Sheesh.  : )

Birthday

Labor Day Trip to Iowa

Over Labor Day, Bryan, Sam and I made the trip back to IA for a wedding. Sam handled the many hours in the car like a trooper- it gets easier each time we do it! We drove through some heavy rain as we left CO but look at this beautiful double rainbow we went through!
And then the rain-

We stopped first in Ames for the ISU/North Dakota State football game.  Sam enjoyed tailgating and did great during the game!  I was silly and only took a few pictures on my phone to document his first trip to Jack Trice-
From there we headed to CR and had an early birthday party with our parents and Bryan's sister.  Safe to say Sam is loved and spoiled!  He had a great little party to kick off the birthday festivities!
Sunday, our friend Maria was married in a beautiful Labor Day ceremony.  Here's a picture of us outside of the reception as we sent Sam home with Nana.
We helped my parents move a few loads from Newton to their new house in Ames on Monday before heading back to CO early Tuesday morning.  It was a great quick trip home!!
